Hey Tea X Jingdezhen China Ceramics Museum(喜茶 X 景德镇中国陶瓷博物馆)

Last year, Heytea and the Jingdezhen China Ceramics Museum(景德镇中国陶瓷博物馆) launched the "我佛持杯" series. Three designs were launched, and a refrigerator magnet was given as a gift when purchasing the co-branded milk tea series.

The three Buddha statues used in the series are popular memes on the Internet, but after the launch, they were questioned by a large number of consumers, who believed that Heytea blasphemed religion. The staff of the Shenzhen Municipal Ethnic and Religious Affairs Bureau also interviewed Heytea, and the series of products were eventually removed from the shelves.

We think it was a smart move for them to cooperate with the Porcelain Museum, but the mistake was to involve the Buddha statues. They might have been more successful if they had focused on artifacts without any religious connotations, such as replacing the gifts with refrigerator magnets made of traditional Chinese porcelain.
